چکیده
The study aimed to appraise groundwater quality in the Mekong Delta using a index (GWQI) and estimate human health risks associated with consumption. Groundwater samples were collected at sixty wells distributed An Giang, Kien Hau Giang Dong Thap provinces. Twelve water parameters measured, including pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), hardness, coliform, nitrate (NO3ˉ), nitrite (NO2ˉ), ammonium (NH4+), sulfate (SO42-), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), arsenic (As) cadmium (Cd). results compared national regulation on quality. findings of this indicated that was contaminated microorganisms some heavy metals (Fe, Mn, As). This related anthropogenic activities, such as improperly treated domestic wastewater agricultural industrial wastes. Based GWQI, 30% classified very good for drinking purposes. However, over 26% all unsuitable drinking. In terms risk assessment, children rather susceptible cancer adverse effects through As-contaminated than adults. consuming adults up 4.28×10-3that is higher acceptable risk. highest aggregate hazard quotient metal-contaminated 9.54, which means they could suffer effects. an indispensable source freshwater Delta; thus, home treatments are recommended protect public health, in-depth assessment should be conducted. Human Health Risk Assessment of Nitrate and Trace Metals Via Groundwater in Central Bangladesh
Groundwater plays a pivotal role as the largest potable water sources in Bangladesh. As agriculture is widely practiced in Bangladesh, potential nitrate (NO3¯) pollution may occur. Besides, excess amount of arsenic (As) has already been found in groundwater in many parts of Bangladesh including the present study area. Thus, this study was conducted to assess the NO3¯ status along with some trac...

Most local people in the agricultural areas of Sistan and Baluchestan Province (Iran), generally consume shallow groundwater from farm wells. This study aimed to assess the water quality and health risk potentially of As, Pb, Cr and Ni for drinking purposes in Zarabad aquifer. Also the geochemical processes controlling chemistry of Zarabad aquifer were studied. Piper diagram shows two major hyd...

متن کاملHealth risk assessment of groundwater arsenic pollution in southern Taiwan.
Residents of the Pingtung Plain, Taiwan, use groundwater for drinking. However, monitoring results showed that a considerable portion of groundwater has an As concentration higher than the safe drinking water regulation of 10 μg/L. Considering residents of the Pingtung Plain continue to use groundwater for drinking, this study attempted to evaluate the exposure and health risk from drinking gro...
